Update 11/19 Morning:  It looks like we're at capacity! There has been great word of mouth (thanks everyone!) with a few weeks to spare before this event.

On December 3rd, the biggest names in the Lean Startup world and a slew of entrepreneurs will gather at The Lean Startup Conference in San Francisco. Edmonton Lean Startup Circle was tapped to be the official simulcast partner for Edmonton and will stream the entire single-track event at Grant MacEwan, free of charge. Join us to watch, learn and discuss how to be more innovative, use people’s time better, and be more successful.

The Lean Startup Conference (LSC) in San Francisco brings together innovators from startups and established companies alike to share lessons for building profitable businesses.

LSC costs $900+ to register for alone, before flights and hotels, and it's not a publicly broadcasted conference.

This year, you can attend Day 1 of the conference here in Edmonton for free.

The Lean Startup Conference Edmonton simulcast is open, and welcome to members, entrepreneurs, students and the public.  Everyone is welcome.

Location:

Room 9-101 is located in the Robbins Centre (Building 9) on the main floor. Robbins Health Learning Centre is located across the street from Harvey's and Future Shop at 104 ave and 109 Street.

This is a great room at Grant Macewan University in downtown Edmonton, complete with a food court steps outside the room. The room has seating with built in tabletops handy for a day of taking notes with laptop, tablet or writing.

Schedule:

We'll tune in live to the livestream, at 10:00 and take breaks when the conference does.
You can bring lunch, or eat at the food court.  Everything is a few steps away.

The schedule is released and available at: http://leanstartup.co/program

Guarantee your seat:

The room does have a capacity, so seats are first come first served - please reserve your seat while you're here.

What to bring:

Bring a notebook to write in for sure, and your laptop/tablet if you like.  Come for part of the day, or all of it.  It's a great chance to connect, catch up, and hangout afterwards. When a schedule becomes available it will be shared and posted.

The Speakers:

This year's list of speakers looks great:

  • Marc Andreessen
  • Eric Ries
  • Steve Blank
  • Beth Comstock
  • Adam Goldstein
  • Ash Maurya
  • so many more speakers...Check out the list of speakers!

If there's anything else you need or would like to see, please send an email: leanstartupyeg@gmail.com.

Come and share the experience, and the conversation. See you there!

About GMUCS

Assistance in arranging space to host and volunteer effort has been provided by GMCUS.  They have provided a great room for the day.

GMCUS is the Grant MacEwan Undergraduates Of Computing Science, but since that's a mouthful, we go by GMUCS for short.  We're happy to answer any questions you may have by e-mail at gmucs42@gmail.com

We are here to improve your life as a Computing Science Student here at Grant MacEwan University.  We take the initiative on many roles including being representatives of the student body recognized by the Computing Science Department, organizing social events and distributing information to students.
