Want to Learn about Local Herbs?
Join me for the 3rd annaul Pembroke Herb Walk along the Pembroke Waterfront.
It's a great opportunity to spend some time outside and learn about local herbs growing right in our backyard!
We'll cover a short distance along the wheelchair and walker accessible paved path. We'll start near the Pembroke Marina where the boardwalk ends and the paved path begins, near the pointer boat. We'll walk past Algonquin College, to the bridge nearby - about a kilometer in total.
We'll learn about local medicinal plants including linden trees, mullein, chicory, red clover, plantain, St. John’s wort, motherwort, yarrow, stinging nettles, sumac, jewelweed and yellow dock.
9:00 am-10:00 am is designed specifically for seniors (though all are welcome)
5:00 pm-6:00 pm is for the general public (everyone is welcome)
Rain date is Tuesday, July 12th 2016.
