April 20th, 2013 is the Alexandra Park Community Tree Planting Festival!
This is a fun event to celebrate and welcome our new edible native trees.
Everyone from the community is encouraged to attend. All ages and abilities are welcome.
For those looking to get their hands dirty, there will be opportunities to help with the digging and planting. There will also be roles for those not wanting to get quite that dirty. And games and activities for children of all ages!
Saturday, April 20th
Time: 10am - 4pmWhere to Meet: In the middle of the parkProvided: Equipment (i.e. shovels, gloves, etc.)
, food, coffee and other refreshments, etc.
What to Bring: Snacks, your own coffee mug and waterbottle, a spade and gloves if you have them, your friends and neighbours!
If you can make it, the Friends of Alexandra Park and volunteers will be in the park on Friday April 19th between 12pm and 5pm preparing the soil for the following day.
This is event is brought to you by THE FRIENDS OF ALEXANDRA PARK with the kind support of LIVE GREEN TORONTO and the SCADDING COURT COMMUNITY CENTRE. The goal is to engage the community in growing a shared, native, edible tree population and generate awareness around the importance of trees and food.
