This event is a fundraiser for Mason Street City Farm, a 1/4 acre market garden nestled in the heart of downtown Victoria. The farm currently produce over 1 ton of vegetables annually, while running multiple educational programs for Victoria residents.

The farm is raising funds to make its aquaponics greenhouse truly sustainable with a solar electric power system, and continue a paid internship program to train Victoria residents to start their own urban agriculture businesses.

Wear your muck boots with your finery, and prepare to be inspired, satisfied, and energized! Stay for the dance party after dinner!

Victoria Aquaponics and Mason Street City Farm

Following in the gum boot steps of Ma and Grandpa, Jess likes to get his hands dirty.  Over the past 10 years Jess has sought to learn and expand on the lessons passed down from generations before.

Jesse began his part time relationship with Mason Street Farm in 2006. Passion for food cultivation and a deeper awareness of the challenges our dominant food system faces were the fruits of volunteering there alongside Angela.

After a yearlong sebatical at The Bullocks Permaculture Homestead on Orcas Island, Jesse returned to Victoria and took a full leap into life at Mason Street.

Today, Jesse is a bit of an aquaponic fanatic. He puts his skills to the test as Manager of Aquaponic Operations for Mason Street City Farm and Victoria Aquaponics. He brings his enthusiasm and experience to workshops on food cultivation and permaculture in Victoria BC, Orcas Island, Washington and Thailand.
