Boots n Suits is a fundraiser for Mason Street City Farm and the educational programs that we offer aspiring organic farmers. We grow food, and we grow farmers!
We have big plans for the upcoming year, including offering an urban farming certificate program and upgrading our harvesting technology to make more time for skill-building with our apprentices. We are also working in partnership with Limbic Media and the Pacific School of Innovation and Inquiry to create an automated and networked control system for our aquaponics greenhouse, designed and engineered by local high school students.
Mason Street City Farm is a 1/4 acre market farm nestled in the heart of downtown Victoria that produces more than 3400 pounds of vegetables annually. We run multiple educational programs, including our apprenticeship program that offers Victoria residents of limited resources a paid position to learn how to run an urban farming business. We also provide tours for elementary, high school and post-secondary students interested in food security and our holistic model of food production.
