Description

Let's enjoy the great outdoors with a hike to the Johnston Canyon waterfalls and the ink pots! The trail starts in Johnston Canyon where you can see about seven waterfalls. Afterwards, there is the option to proceed to the ink pots, which are made up of several pools of emerald coloured mineral springs that bubble to the surface. Family and friends are welcome to attend.

Date: Saturday, August 20

Time: Departure from Calgary - 7:30 am

Start time of hike - approx. 9:30 am

Location: Johnston Canyon

Carpooling: If you need a ride or can provide a ride, please indicate on the registration form. Calgary carpooling meet-up location to be determined.

Cost: Nominal cost for carpool gas & park entrance fee

What to Bring: Lots of water, a packed lunch & good hiking shoes

Direction to Johnston Canyon:

-East side of the Bow Valley Parkway (Highway 1A)

-24km east of Banff & 6.5km east of Castle Junction

-Trail is at the northeast side of the parking lot
