Course Description

 


This one day course covers the essential elements of permaculture design.  Students will learn the broad scope of permaculture design methodology and be engaged in the material through design exercises and hands on activities that they can take home an implement in their gardens right away.  This short workshop is an information filled opportunity to learn about permaculture design and a great first step along the path of sustainable design.

 

The Workshop:

 12:30-2:30  Intro to Permaculture Design:

Learn the basics of permaculture in this one day introductory course.  Taught by Jesse Lemieux from Pacific Permaculture.  Learn the basics of designing a permaculture garden and the theory needed to make it grow. 

 

2:30-2:45  Break

 

2:45-4:45  Permaculture in Action:

You will get to participate in a soil building activitity, using the holistic technique of sheet mulching–  using recycled material that will prepare your garden for Spring planting.

 

4:45-5:00  Break

 

5:00-5:30  Group discussion

An opportunity for remaining questions and open discussion.

A Chance to Choose is funded by Service Canada and S.U.C.C.E.S.S. and brought to you by Vancity credit union. All surplus resources will be donated to Tri-Cities Transition Women's House.
