About Falling Walls Labs
UAlberta was invited to host 1 of only 20 international Labs—a new German led initiative to showcase the quality, passion and talent of outstanding Next Gen researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs. In terms of format it's something like a 'dash of Dragon's Den mixed with a dash of TED Talk.' Presenters are judged on the following 3 factors listed in order of weighting: breakthrough factor—how new and outstanding idea is, relevance/impact—how relevant idea is for the specific discipline and beyond, and structure and performance—clarity and how convincing the presenter is.
