Payment is based on the organization’s budget. Organizations with budgets over $500,000? Pay $60. Organizations with budgets between $50,000 - $500,000? Pay $40. Organizations with budgets under $50,000? Pay $20.
I am paying to attend
Fees are based on your yearly salary. Earn $50,000 or more? Pay $50. Earn $30,000 - $50,000? Pay $30. Earn $20,000 - $30,000 Pay $20. Earn under $20,000. Pay $10.
I want to pay on the day
Register now and bring cash on the day. Fees are based on the sliding scale outlined in the "I am paying to attend" and the "My organization is paying me to attend" ticket descriptions.

University of Toronto undergraduate and graduate students, Earthroots members, No One Is Illegal Toronto members, Ontario Coalition Against Poverty members, and Greenpeace and OPIRG Toronto volunteers can choose to attend Tools for Change workshops for free or on a donation basis. Contact us if your group is interested in being a Tools for Change sponsor.

I need a scholarship
For those who can't afford to attend. We approve scholarships a week before the workshop. Wage earners should apply for another ticket type. If you are with an organization with a budget of $10K or more please ask the organization to pay for your ticket before applying for a scholarship.

Share Grassroots Fundraising

Event Details

This workshop will help you prepare to develop a strategic fundraising plan for your grassroots social or ecological justice group. The workshop will focus on identifying the strengths and weaknesses of common grassroots fundraising methods including events, membership donations, small grants, contributions from NGOs and unions, online, etc, with an eye to assessing what will be most effective and appropriate for your group.  We will also offer tips on best practices, including case studies of effective fundraising efforts. 

Time: Sunday April 7, 2013, 1pm - 5pm.

Location: University of Toronto, St. George Campus.  OISE, 252 Bloor Street West, Room 5250.

Trainer: Paul Tucker is an educator and organizer based in Toronto. He has fundraised for grassroots groups as well as professionally for registered non-profits.

Tools for Change

Tools for Change is a project of OPIRG Toronto, Earthroots, OPSEU Region 5, Greenpeace Canada, OPIRG York, CWTP York and the Community Action Centre of the Student Association at George Brown College. We help you develop skills to champion social, economic, and environmental justice. We host over 20 workshops a year. Workshop are offered on a sliding scale of $20, $30 and $50 and scholarships are available.
