Fall is the ideal time to start your garlci for a summer harvest next year! Garlic needs to be in the ground through the cold winter to grow well, so take the time to plant yours this October. In this workshop you will learn all about choosing the right garlic for our climate, how to prepare your soil, tend your garlic through the seasons, harvest and prepare your garlic for storage. Join Mike Nassichuk in exploring all the best ways to maximize your garlic harvest.
Mike Nassichuk claims he was raised in a vegetable patch and credits his parents as being his foremost vegetable gardening teachers. He is a UBC graduate with degrees in Biology, which provides a scientific context to his gardening interests. He is a qualified Master Gardener, has also completed the Advnanced Master Gardener program, and is a recipient of the VanDusen Garden "Award of Distinction".
