Today’s youth are facing persistently high rates of unemployment, especially among vulnerable youth populations. Entrepreneurship can be a solution to this growing problem!

Join 150+ young entrepreneurs, youth workers, policy-makers, small business advisors, government officials and employment experts to hear about new programs and funding for youth entrepreneurship, and discuss ways to help stimulate youth employment in Toronto.

  • Listen as keynote Sean Geobey, author of "The Young and the Jobless: Youth Unemployment in Ontario,delivers insightful comments on his key findings. 
  • Learn about new programs and funding opportunities from the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Employment.

Round table discussions: How can I stimulate youth entrepreneurship in my community?

Working groups will convene in round tables to discuss the needs of youth at a community level, exploring partnership opportunities and creative programming ideas to stimulate youth entrepreneurship. Round tables will report ideas to find patterns of convergence and development.

2:15 p.m.

Service provider panel (Moderated by Earl Miller)

A panel of key service providers in the Toronto entrepreneurship ecosystem, including Enterprise Toronto, MaRS Discovery District, representatives from academic institutions, a youth incubation program and an existing self-employment training provider, will speak about their work in supporting youth entrepreneurship.
