International Development Drinks - October 2013
Wednesday, October 16, 2013 from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM (PDT)
Because we don't want our guests paying service fees, a cover donation of $4.00 will be asked at the door. Please bring cash. Proceeds go towards BCCIC, CoDev & EWB for improving this quarterly event.
Making Connections Happen
The British Columbia Council for International Cooperation (BCCIC) invites you to International Development Drinks at the Blarneystone Pub in the heart of Gastown.
This evening provides an opportunity to connect with others who are interested and passionate about international development in Vancouver. Other attendees include returned overseas volunteers, graduate students, professors, NGOs and social entrepreneurs. Join us for a night of socializing and sharing.
What does it mean to end poverty? What does it mean to end hunger?
This time, we will help guide everyone through some conversations around poverty alleviation and food security in recognition of World Food Day and the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. Join us as we try and tackle some of these issues together. You never know who you'll meet and what the outcome will be!
For this kind of dialogue to be meaningful we need a range of people involved in development. Whether you're new to the sector or have been at it for a few decades, and regardless of where you sit on the spectrum of approaches to development, please come and share your experiences and questions!
