Depart/Return: Edmonton, Alberta.

Overnight Accommodation: Tipi Camping/or local hotel

Day 1: Our friendly tour director will greet you at the meeting point in Edmonton. Participants will travel to Lac La Biche. Arrive in Lac La Biche for a gourmet local dinner and drinks. Walking tour of Lac La Biche, and set up camp in tipis just outside Lac La Biche where you will meet our metis tour guide and elders, or if you prefer you can stay at one of the local hotels.

Day 2: Participate in a group pancake breakfast, and get prepared to go on a mushroom foray in the boreal forest. Learn about local mushrooms, how to identify edible mushrooms and go on the hunt for your own. Back into town for lunch at one of the local hot spots and and then spend the afternoon with an elder trying out wilderness activities, learning about medicinal plants, the role of drums, pipes and other ceremonies.

Day 3: Camp cooked breakfast over a fire, and then spend the morning with members from the French-Canadian community of Plamondon who will take us on a journey of french Canadian cuisine including a home made traditional meal. We will then pack up and head back home.
