Make a Bath Pouf!
Artisan Carla Thompson of "Not Your Grannys Doilies" will teach you the basics of crochet. This is a great class to start with if you have never crocheted before or if you have crocheted in the past and need a refresher. You'll learn basic stitches and techniques while creating your very own bath pouf. All materials supplied.

Test before you Invest! Our Sampler Classes are a great way to expand your artistic horizons giving you the opportunity to try out different mediums before investing in a full workshop or supplies. Classes are 3-4 hours long and all supplies are included. Our teachers generally begin with a brief demo and discuss various techniques after which attendees will then have opportunity to create a project they will be proud to take home.

Carla has been playing with yarns and threads since grade school and finds handwork similar to meditation. She has taught one-on-one and in groups and is a DMC Threads mentor. She specializes in counted cross stitch, crocheted Amigurumi and creates her own patterns.
Doors open at 5:45pm and the class begins at 6:00pm.
Water, Coffee and Tea are available but feel free to bring your own snacks or drinks.
Must I register and pay through Evenbrite?
No. Eventbrite is one of the easiest ways to register and pay however you can save the eventbrite fees by registering over the phone with a credit card (a $1.50 convenience fee will apply).
What forms of payment do you take?
1. Eventbrite (fees do apply)
2. Credit Card via Square ($1.00 convenience fee applies if you pay in person; a $1.50 convenience fee applies if you are registering via phone)
3. Cash (please call the studio ahead of time to determine price + GST & bring exact change as we have limited cash on the premises)
4. Cheque (by special arrangement & if you are a regular customer of the studio)
What is your refund and cancellation policy?
We realize that "life" happens. If something serious comes up please let us know & we will see what we can do. We generally do not provide refunds unless classes are cancelled by 100 Braid St Studios. If you as the purchaser cancels, a credit may be able to be issued for another 100 Braid St program.
Why do some classes and parties have age requirements?
We provide classes/parties for all age groups: adults, youth, and children. Some events are 16+, because of both subject and dexterity; others are geared toward children or youth and others are for the entire family where everyone can work together (no age restrictions).
What are my transport options getting to the event?
The studios are conveniently located just off of Hwy 1 on Braid St between Rousseau and Brunette. Parking is available in the front of the building and additional parking is available in the back of the building.
Millenium Line: Braid St Station.
100 Braid St Studios is about a three minute walk across the street from the Braid St Skytrain station. The station is the major interchange with skytrain for many Coquitlam and New Westminster bus routes.
Many Coquitlam and New Westminster bus routes meet at the Braid Station interchange and then it's just a short walk to the Studios.

The posted hours are generalized times when you will find the studio open or someone available by phone. Our hours are subject to change based on specific classes or events which can run anywhere from 8am - Midnight, Tuesday to Saturday.

100 Braid St Studios is an inclusive working art studio for New Westminster and Lower Mainland artists that allows visitors to be inspired and to learn from the artists practicing in the studio. Our painting events are unique opportunity for you to have a great time and try something new. Just pick out the class you'd like to attend, register online, show up for your class where everything has been set up and provided for you. Follow along with our instructor and then take your own masterpiece home. We provide a no-skills-required environment where we welcome to non-artists and artists alike.
