Payment is based on the organization’s budget. Organizations with budgets over $500,000? Pay $60. Organizations with budgets between $50,000 - $500,000? Pay $40. Organizations with budgets under $50,000? Pay $20.

Fees are based on your yearly salary. Earn $50,000 or more? Pay $50. Earn $30,000 - $50,000? Pay $30. Earn $20,000 - $30,000 Pay $20. Earn under $20,000. Pay $10.

Register now and bring cash on the day. Fees are based on the sliding scale outlined in the "I am paying to attend" and the "My organization is paying me to attend" ticket descriptions.

University of Toronto undergraduate and graduate students, Earthroots members, No One Is Illegal Toronto members, and Greenpeace and OPIRG Toronto volunteers can choose to attend Tools for Change workshops for free or on a donation basis. I need a scholarship
For those who can't afford to attend. We approve scholarships a week before the workshop. Wage earners should apply for another ticket type. If you are with an organization with a budget of $10K or more please ask the organization to pay for your ticket before applying for a scholarship.

Event Details


This workshop explores how to do effective online campaigning & maximize social media strategies in your projects and campaigns. Participants will explore the benefits and challenges of different online and social media tools, be given useful information about managing online campaigns & social media platforms as well as mobilizing different audiences and tracking results

Time: Wednesday January 16th,  6:00-9:00pm.

Trainer: Anil Kanji works as the Supporter Communications Coordinator for Greenpeace Canada, with a focus on digital mobilisation, storytelling, and fundraising. Anil has over 16 years if communications and marketing experience in both the for-profit and no-profit sectors. He has trained with the New Organizing Institute, SmartMeme, and is part of the global Web of Change community.

Tools for Change

A project of Earthroots, Greenpeace, OPIRG Toronto, OPIRG York, OPSEU, the Centre for Women and Trans People at York and the Student Association at George Brown College, Tools for Change helps you develop skills to champion social, economic, and environmental justice.  We host over 20 workshops a year.  Workshop costs range from $20 to $50.
