Toronto singer-songwriters Peter Katz and Emma-Lee will be joining each other on stage for a national tour from April 3 until May 8.
The singer-songwriters will pass through Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia.
Emma-Lee, who became a fan of Katz by listening to his music online, kickstarted the collaboration on “Where You Want To Be” on her debut release “Never Just A Dream” (2010).
Since then, the two artists have been collaborating creatively in songwriting and stage performances, such as “It Was You” on Katz’ 2012 studio record “Still Mind Still.”
“You meet a lot of other artists on the road, and while many of them are great, every now and then you come across one with whom you share an extra-special kinship,” Peter Katz said. “Emma-Lee is one of those rare people.”
“She’s a super creative, fearless songwriter, and collaborating with her is great because neither of us will let the other give up on a good idea, nor let a not-so-good one through – we really hold each other to our best.”
Peter Katz and Emma-Lee worked together recently at the Toronto Zoo to film and record their inspired banjo and guitar cover of Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got To Do With It.”
The two will perform their own songs together, as well as unexpected covers and new originals.
“Peter and I come from different musical backgrounds yet we have a common goal: to make music that moves people… whether that means to happiness or to tears,” said Emma-Lee.
“We are both very emotional writers and performers and when we come together it’s a really beautiful blend of both of our strengths.”
