An overview of the evolution of the development debate since the 2008 publication of, “From Poverty to Power: How Active Citizens and Effective States Can Change the World.”

Moderated by David Watson, Editorial Pages Editor, Ottawa Citizen  

 

Duncan will speak in English, but discussion will take place in French and English

A question period and book signing will follow.

 

Duncan's new book will be available for sale.

 

Duncan is Oxfam Great Britain’s Senior Strategic Adviser and foremost development thinker and author of the extremely popular From Poverty to Power blog and book of the same title.

Duncan was previously Senior Policy Adviser on trade and development at the UK Department for International Development and a Policy Analyst on trade and globalization at the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development. He is also currently a visiting fellow at the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex. He is the author of several books on Latin America, including “Silent Revolution: The Rise and Crisis of Market Economics in Latin America.”
