The series opens on Saturday, 8 February 2014 from 8:00–10:00 p.m. with an evening panel discussion hosted at Ryerson University in LIB72 (350 Victoria Street, Toronto) called “Challenging (our) Contradictions: A conversation with Sarah Schulman.” The event puts Schulman into conversation with student activists from York and Ryerson. Along with Schulman, the discussants will connect their activism both within and beyond the neoliberalizing university in an effort to imagine new strategies for action.
