Sweet Potato is hosting the annual "So I Married An Axe Murderer Robbie Burns Party" at Raw Bar By Duncan Ly on Saturday, January 25th.
Join Sweet Potato and their guests as they perform tunes from this classic Mike Myers comedy as well as an array of Scottish rock n roll classics celebrating on the birthday of Scotland's immortal bard - Robbie Burns.
Prizes for best costumes from "So I Married An Axe Murderer" as well as knowledge of "all things Scottish".
Doors open at 8:00pm and the show starts at 9:00pm.
Tickets are available for $20.00 and include a complimentary welcome cocktail, a taste of haggis, sweet potato and the chance to win all sorts of prizes.
The Vietmodern menu for Raw Bar by Duncan Ly will also be available along with our amazing cocktail list and selection of whiskeys.
Sweet Potato - is a Alberta-based roots rock band that has performed extensively since 2006 at diverse ski resorts, ghosts towns, Stampede functions and even barn dances in Nova Scotia. The annual "So I Married An Axe Murderer Robbie Burns Party" has attracted a loyal following of fans and guest musicians. Sweet Potato is comprised of David Gray (rhythm guitar/vocals/bass); Wayne Immonen (lead guitar/vocals/bass); Nick Tyman (harmonica/bass/vocals); and Dave Neufeld (drums/rants).

Parking - Hotel Arts features a heated underground parkade accessible off 13th Avenue SW for a fee ($5 from 5pm - 5am).
Cabs - There is a taxi stand located outside Hotel Arts. Please don't drink and drive.

Haggis - although not part of our Vietmodern offerings, Chef Ly will be preparing a haggis for patrons to enjoy later in the evening. Contrary to popular belief that all Scottish cuisine was invented on a dare, Scotland boasts countless delicacies...haggis might not be one of them but is ideal if you have an iron deficiency.
