Students and Start-ups is based on the premise that students want meaningful and relevent employment and start-ups want energetic and enthusiastic employess. In our previous 10 events we have had 24 successful hires from some of Ottawa's leading start-ups like; YOUi Labs, Zeebu Mobile, Infonium, Norada, Purple Forge and our two new testimonial videos coming soon; Koneka and Momentous from SNS-10. Students - what you need to do to attend:
- Sign up with a valid student email address (Algonquin, Carleton, U of O)
- Technical Student
(computer science, engineering, electrical... when in doubt ask me)
- Be looking for work in the next 3 months
- Pay a commitment fee of $10

Students are required to pay a commitment fee of $10 ... WTF! Students have no money why do we have to pay? This isn't a charge for the event it is exactly what the name says a commitment fee. We want to motivate you to attend. TheCodeFactory and start-ups have committed time and resources to the event and it is important everyone have skin in the game.
When & Where
TheCodeFactory is a collaborative workspace located in downtown Ottawa at 100 Gloucester Street, between O'Connor and Metcalfe. TheCodeFactory is a clubhouse or water cooler for the start-up community in Ottawa.
Take the relaxed and informal feel of a coffee shop meeting and add a dash of the excitement and enthusiasm of Demo Camp and you have TheCodeFactory. TheCodeFactory provides a relaxed, informal environment to work, connect and collaborate.
