Event Details

Each year, the Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre (SSMIC) hosts an annual SSMARt Innovation Awards, building awareness of the bright leaders within the science and technology sectors, and showcasing talent from the Algoma region.

The SSMARt Innovation Awards feature eight awards categories, including: Innovation Company of the Year, Innovation Leader of the Year, Innovation Project of the Year, Innovation Researcher of the Year, Innovation Educator of the Year, Innovation in Web and Social Media Award, Innovation Student/Graduate of the Year, and Innovation Youth of the Year.  

Tickets include luncheon and a door prize draw.

For each gala ticket purchased, one (1) draw ticket will be given for the opportunity to win an outstanding door prize.

The Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre (SSMIC) was established in 1999 to function as a catalyst for economic development and diversification in the information technology and knowledge-based sectors. SSMIC is focused on four core areas: operating a business incubator to encourage the establishment and growth of business start‐ups; providing support services to the SME (Small to Medium Enterprise) technology and science community; supporting the establishment and enhancement of advanced research projects in the region and undertaking strategic market development projects such as the highly successful GIS project. SSMIC operates an award‐winning GIS department that has been recognized internationally for its unique community information utility model and advanced work in the health and human services sector.
