What is an Incredible Ratanak Race you ask? This race is a fundraising event which will support the important work of Ratanak International in Cambodia, where thousands of girls and boys are forced into sex slavery. Together let's contribute hope and freedom from exploitation, abuse and poverty. The race is designed to get you out of the house and running (or walking) and public transiting through lower mainland cities while completing fun challenges and obstacles along the way. Anyone can participate! The race is not designed for athletic types only and can be easily won through successful completion of mental challenges as well.
The race is a 6-hour long race with a 1 hour lunch break for lunch. There will be pit stops during certain points in the race with water and snack stations. The race will begin at the Ratanak office in Burnaby and end at the final location with the announcement of the 4 prize winners.
Space is limited to 30 teams only. So sign up today and start collecting donations. It's going to be an "Incredible" day!
When & Where
Ratanak International, founded by former RCMP Forensic Scientist, Brian McConaghy, is a Christian charity working on the frontlines in Cambodia rescuing and rehabilitating victims of child exploitation.
Since 1989 Ratanak International has been dedicated exclusively to restoring a post-genocide Cambodian society that was torn apart by the Khmer Rouge regime in the 1970’s.
The goal of Ratanak International is simple: To help the Cambodian people rebuild their country and in so doing show them the love of Jesus Christ in a tangible way. We seek out the very best agencies to work with, agencies that truly love and understand the people.
Ratanak International finances and monitors carefully selected projects each year and keeps administrative costs to a minimum, thus maximizing our resources for projects in Cambodia.
Today Ratanak International partners with a trafficking prevention program, several rehabilitation centers for former child sex slaves, and runs its own reintegration program for young women striving to re-enter their society after sexual abuse.
Despite the immense challenges and the deep trauma involved, Ratanak is witnessing hope and even joy in the precious lives that are being restored.
