The Regent College Development Office invites you to

“What is wrong with the world and what is Regent doing about it?”

A free public lecture featuring Professor John G. Stackhouse hosted by the Regent College Development Office. Please join us at First Baptist Church of Calgary for an engaging evening of insight from one of Regent College's most compelling commentators on contemporary culture and society.

About the speaker:

Dr. John G. Stackhouse, the  Sangwoo Youtong Chee Chair of Theology and Culture at Regent College, is a scholar and public communicator who analyzes the many intersections of contemporary religion and society. His writings touch on fields such as history, sociology, philosophy, theology, ethics, and comparative religion. He has given lectures on dozens of campuses in North America, including Harvard, Yale, Stanford, and Queen’s, and his commentary on religion and contemporary culture has been sought by major broadcast media outlets in the United States and Canada. Dr. Stackhouse vividly presents the wisdom of ancient traditions from the perspective of contemporary scholarship to equip audiences to face today's challenges at work, in the public square, and in private life.

Married for more than twenty years and the father of three grown sons, Dr. Stackhouse enjoys skiing and hiking the Vancouver-area mountains with his family, as well as playing basketball, touch football, or hockey when he can. He is also a jazz musician, and gives the occasional performance on piano, guitar, trumpet, or electric bass.

Here, people from around the world are inspired and enriched with a deep and practical Christian faith extending into all spheres of life and enabling them to live more thoughtfully in varied vocations in the church and the world.
