How do you analyze millions of daily Twitter interactions? How do you extract trends from the data? You must distribute the work to independent processes for scalability. Akka, a Scala library, was designed with scalability from the onset: distribute your work over local and remote actors
This event is a hackaton: bring your laptop, Eclipse or IDEA with the Scala IDE or plugin, Scala 2.9.1 and Akka 1.2. To help get you started, we have a Git repository for you to clone: https://github.com/seevibes/scala-hackaton.
You can install the free Scala IDE for Eclipse by following instructions on http://scala-ide.org/download/current.html.
If you have no prior experience using Scala or Akka, we have people on hand to help get you started.
