One of the aspects of NOCAF is not only presenting great performers to an audience, but providing quality industry experts to our performers. Each festival we bring out some of the best industry leaders in entertainment not only for our festival participants but for New Orleans entertainment community as well. This year we're excited to welcome APA, The Collective, Cabarello Casting, The Agency Group, Theater Group, writer/director Huck Botko as well as many others! This is a great opportunity to get one on one time with industry experts in order to pitch yourself or your project!

What is a “pitch date” session?

It takes the form of a speed dating format where you get a specific amount of time with each representative to sell yourself or your project and then move to the next . Everything from talent agents , film/television production, and stand up comedy booking is represented so you're sure to find someone who fits your particular project or talent.

Naturally there are some agencies that participants may not want or need to pitch to, such as a stand up comedian wishing to only interview with bookers and a television producer may not wish to pitch himself to do stand up comedy, but he most certainly can if he wishes! As such we allow participants to pick which agencies they wish to interview with in order to save time and give participants the best focus on their particular talents or projects.

What should I bring?

We recommend for actors to bring head shots, resume, and demo reel. For writers or directors, you should bring a treatment for your television or film project as well as a resume and examples of previous work. For stand ups, you should bring head shots, resume, and a 5 minute video.

In order to ensure that participants get the focus they deserve there is a limitation on the number of participants in this event. This ensures that participants will get the full attention of agencies present and agencies will not be overwhelmed with projects or talents presented to them.

The event will be held at La Nuit Theater 5039 Freret St. on Saturday February 4th at 10am. Time is dependent upon number of participants but expect to be there a minimum of 1 hour for the pitch session and 30 minutes to 1 hour for the Q and A portion. The pitch session will be immediately followed by a Q and A session with the representatives. This ensures that you don't have to spend your time asking questions during the pitch session and reserve questions for afterwards. Space is limited so sign up now!
