This active camp will introduce nature awareness through the use of games and hikes. Campers will gain hands-on knowledge of plants, birds, mammals, wildlife tracking, and wilderness craft skills. Junior camp - Ages 6-10.

N.S.I. - Nature Scene Investigation (July 23 - 27)
Want to become a nature scene detective? Feel like solving some nature mysteries? Put your natural curiosity to work and learn how to look for clues and signs of things happening all around you. Campers will develop tracking skills, examine skulls & bones, and study the great outdoors to solve mysteries. Junior camp - Ages 6-10.

Eco-Helper Adventures (July 30 - August 3)
Do you want to help the environment and make our world a better place? Campers will learn about animals at risk, invasive species, and the Living Roof at Laurel Creek. Activities will also include hands-on adventures that help the environment around the Nature Centre. Junior camp - Ages 6-10

GO Girls! (August 7 - 10)
Get Outdoor (GO) Girls is a unique opportunity for girls to explore nature and get comfortable with all things creepy, crawly, muddy, and slimy in an all-girl environment. This is a chance for girls to take the lead and learn some outdoor skills and nature appreciation to help them develop a lifelong love for Getting Outdoors. Junior camp - Girls ages 6-10

Things with Wings (August 20th -24th)
Interested in flight? Campers will spend the week exploring the world of birds, butterflies, bats, seeds, and many more living things that have wings. Make some cool flying crafts and conduct some neat experiments to learn all about the many things with wings in our world. Junior camp - Ages 6 - 10.

Event Details

Summer camp is all about being outdoors, singing silly camp songs, making new friends and enjoying memories that will last a lifetime.

The Grand River Conservation Authority offers Junior Summer Day Camps at Laurel Creek Nature Centre for kids aged 6 - 10.  Each camp is action-packed full of different activities each and every day.  All of these camps focus on environmental appreciation and teach campers about the outdoors in a fun, yet educational way.  

Junior campers can enjoy a different camp theme each week with hikes, crafts, and activities designed to make learning fun!

All camps run from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm (FREE Extended drop-off/pick-up times available from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm)
