Tourism Victoria President & CEO Rob Gialloreto will share his ideas on "Marketing to the World".

Before joining Tourism Victoria Rob was Chief Executive Officer of Travel Alberta International (TAI) where he managed all facets of the company.  TAI is contracted to deliver marketing services on behalf of the province in Alberta’s key markets in Asia/Pacific, Europe and The Americas. In his over four years at TAI, Gialloreto has led the growth of the organization from a staff of 14 to 40, and managed growing budgets in that time to approximately $25 million in the current fiscal year. Among the projects that Gialloreto led, were Alberta’s presence and partnership with the Canadian Tourism Commission, in the new film launched at the Canada Pavilion at the Epcot Centre in Florida; as well as a multi-media advertising and promotional campaign with the Houston Texans of the National Football League. He has managed a top-notch executive team in the delivery of TAI’s mandate in travel trade; meetings, conventions and incentive travel; media and public relations, e-marketing and consumer engagement.

 Gialloreto began his tenure with TAI in December of 2003 after serving as a senior manager with the City of Calgary in communications and marketing. Prior to directing all the marketing efforts for Red River College in Winnipeg, he enjoyed a 10-year career in professional sports working in hockey and football in the areas of media relations, sales and marketing. In that time Gialloreto quickly progressed to senior roles that saw him create and implement creative and research-based marketing programs, develop and lead sales staff and ultimately deliver experiential value to consumers.

 Effective staff management, bottom-line marketing, strategic communications and organizational leadership define Gialloreto’s track record.

 In his career, Gialloreto has received numerous honors including a Gold Medallion of Excellence for Television Advertising from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations, as well as being named Public Relations Executive of the Year in the International Hockey League. He has taught Business and Marketing at the University of Calgary, University of Winnipeg and St. Lawrence College.
