If the skies are clear, come join us Saturday August 11 from 9pm-midnight at the Observatory to watch the annual Perseid Meteor Shower.
Space is limited to 300 people. Only those registered will be allowed on the grounds. A $2 donation per person will be accepted at the gate when you arrive that evening. Your donation goes towards maintaining the observatory and running educational programs.
Bring a flashlight, blanket and/or lawn chair AND BUG SPRAY so you can easily sit back on the lawn and gaze up to spot the meteors. There will be no viewing through the big telescope, since meteors are best seen with your unaided eyes.
There will be no parking allowed on the observatory grounds. Visitors can park on the side streets near the observatory and walk in through the main gate. Please take note of parking regulations and kindly do not block roadways or neighbours' driveways. Police may be out to enforce parking.
