Time to get back to the grind!

September's here, students are back at school, people have taken their vacations, and businesses are ready and gearing up for the next few months until the New Year. And we're doing to same!

This month, we'll return to our normal format of having a speaker come in and of supporting a local charity. This month, Nicholas Charney will speak to us. Nick is a conoisseur and has spoken at events across the country on Public Sector Renewal, Gov 2.0, and other topics relating to young people getting involved with Government. A truly Ottawa talk for a truly Ottawan community!

This month, we're going to support LiveWorkPlay, a local organization that assists individuals with intellectual disabilities by helping them integrate into the rest of society through living arrangements, employment, and social network building. CEO Keenan Wellar will be on hand to answer any questions. As always, we ask that since GenYOTT events are free, that you consider making a donation to the charity we support.

Looking forward to seeing you all again!

NOTE: You do NOT need to print out your e-ticket. Save some paper and just bring yourselves. Nametags will be available at the venue

What is GenYOTT?

Ready to start something awesome? #GenYOTT is all about social networking - taking an evening to go out and meet great new people in your area, not as a way to find clients or investors (although you may do just that!), but as friends first. Ottawa's a city with no shortage of smart, talented, and awesome people, and one of our primary objectives with starting this up was to get you folks in a room together so you could get to know one another better. This night promises to be a great opportunity for you to meet other ambitious, tech-savvy, and creative Ottawans. If you're planning something interesting in 2010, this is a great opportunity for you to meet someone who can kick your plans into high gear, or just to make some new friends and hang out with some really great people!

#GenYOTT started as being an event propelled by Twitter, and the first few events saw mainly contributors from the Twitter community come out and meet each other. The more recent events have found their way out into the greater community, and the GenYOTT community is now over 300 people strong. Be a part of this movement. Be a part of the future of Ottawa. If you're ambitious, we want you!
