Feature Presentation:

Hydro Ottawa's Conservation Solutions For Your Electricity Bills

In an effort to manage the increasing demand for electricity in the province, the Minister of Energy has set very lofty conservation targets for local utilities that go into effect on January 1, 2011. The Province expects that these conservation targets will lead to 1,330 megawatt (MW) of provincial peak demand reductions over a four-year period between 2011 and 2014.

Local Distribution Companies (LDC) like Hydro Ottawa along with the Ontario Energy Board and the Ontario Power Authority have been directed to implement programs that will accomplish these targets.

Hydro Ottawa has achieved industry leading conservation results over the past 4 years and will continue to work with their residential, commercial, institutional and industrial customers to implement the latest conservation and demand management (CDM) programs.

Which energy conservation programs have proven to be the most effective with the greatest financial benefit to you? What incentives are being offered by Hydro Ottawa and the Provincial Government for various conservation measures? Where can building owners find additional advice about how to proceed with an energy reduction program?

The Better Building Breakfast is honoured to have Roger Marsh, Chief Conservation Officer with Hydro Ottawa as our first speaker for 2011.

He will provide an informative and lively discussion about how Hydro Ottawa is working with property owners to save energy and manage electricity costs.
