Centre Jeunesse LGBTQ Youth Centre, Beaconsfield, Quebec

The LGBTQ Youth Center has a diverse array of programs and activities. We offer youth drop-in hours every Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 4 to 8 pm for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer or questioning youth through ages 14 to 21. Our Centre organizes monthly West Island Life Skills events that help facilitate the socialization, education and sense of community within this marginalized group of at risk youth.  Additionally, we have begun offering popular bi-monthly mixers for young LGBTQ adults through ages 19 to 30.

With the help of our volunteers, we organize annual Queer Camps at Cap Saint Jacques Nature Park. For Montreal's Pride and Community Day, the Youth manage a kiosk and promote who we are while simultaneously raising funds through the sale of their hand made jewelery and by raffling donated items. As well, we march in the Pride Parade with a large contigent of youth, adults, seniors and parents.  We also provide outreach presentations on LGBTQ issues to schools and CGEP's. Another much loved event is our Queer Prom. Youth can bring their 'significant other' and get dressed up to their finest and celebrate their graduation with like minded indviduals in a safe and supportive enviroment.

One of our many goals is to encourage youth to develop friendships, confidence, social & life skills and increased self-worth. It is clear that there is great need for our work but to accomplish this, we require people like you to support our work. Our Annual Fundraising Gala and Silent Auction is our largest fundraiser.
