The Fernie and District Historical Society is a vibrant, community-based organization dedicated to recording and presenting the history of Fernie so we can understand, communicate and preserve the uniqueness of our community.  Its core exhibit, This Is Our Fernie, highlights the story of Fernie from the use of the Elk Valley as a transportation route for the Ktunaxa people, to the discovery and mining of coal, to Fernie as a modern resort community.  The Museum presents rotating exhibits, programs, workshops and events that expand on the themes of the core exhibit.
