McLuhan Centre for Culture & Technology

The Coach House Institute (CHI), known as the McLuhan Program in Culture and Technology, is an initiative of the Faculty of Information (iSchool) at the University of Toronto. It aims to continue the groundbreaking work initiated by the Canadian thinker Marshall McLuhan (1911-1980), who spent his career as Professor of English at the University of Toronto. It preserves and honors his intellectual heritage by fostering and supporting innovative scholarship and interdisciplinary research in the broad field of humanities, according to the tradition of the so-called Toronto School of Communication.
