Our iftar is an opportunity for the community to get together and support the honourable cause of orphan sponsorship. We invite you to complete your fast with us with a delicious buffet and an engaging program.

Doors open at 4:00 p.m.

About One MAX:

Muslims Achieving Excellence (MAX) was established with the founding charter to recognize the excellent professional, educational and charitable achievements of Muslims in North America. We aim to recognize, reward, celebrate & motivate high achievement, along with positive and productive contributions to society by Muslims in North America.

MAX events throughout the year are focused on a specific impactful objective, such as Mentorship, Entrepreneurship, Training for Boards, Leadership at a Senior Level, or Scholarships. We have heard from many of you who want the opportunity to network and have a social within the MAX community. We are excited to bring to you our year end social to provide this opportunity.

About Islamic Relief Canada's Zakat Elegible Orphan Sponsorship:

Every child deserves the best start in life: a happy home, a safe place to play and access to quality education, medical care and nutrition. However, for the 1 in 5 children worldwide living in extreme poverty, many of these simple necessities and rights are out of reach. Instead, their life is incredibly challenging, with the risk of illiteracy, disease, child labour, lifelong poverty and even death. Living in refugee camps, traumatized by war or simply unable to go to school in their local community due to crippling poverty, these children lack the means to keep safe at home, access critical education and medical and/or psychosocial care. Their futures look unsafe, uncertain and bleak.

As a donor, you will be paired on a true 1-1 basis with an orphan in need. Your monthly gift is sent to our field offices on a quarterly basis for immediate distribution to the same orphan, to uplift their life and help change their future.

As an orphan sponsor, we’ll send you 1) an initial biodata report that shows the current status of your orphan as well as 2) an annual progress report. Our case workers take great care to get to know each orphan and their family. They conduct regular home visits to ensure a safe environment and that funds are utilized correctly.

Wafiq Syed is an Data Transformation Lead at Google and Qur'an Reciter known for sharing inspirational videos. He will be gracing our iftar with his beautiful recitation and reflections. and will be guiding us through the Maghrib and Isha Salah.

We invite you to end the night with us as Wafiq leads Taraweeh and Witr Dua, presenting another opportunity to come together in prayer and reflection.

Naveen Khan Art will be presenting another Islamic Art Exhibition at our 10th Annual Iftar, with a portion of proceeds supporting Islamic Relief's Orphan Sponsorship Program and MAX Scholarships.

Naveen spreads the beauty of the Divine Message by combining traditional Arabic Calligraphy with abstract art in her signature large paintings. She uses her art as her medium to give Dawah and bring the community together. Over the past 11 years, her paintings have become a powerful medium to create change in the world as each painting supports a charitable cause, making it a source of ongoing charity for her and her clients. Naveen preserves Islamic Art by sharing her passion with her students who learn how to create her style of art from scratch through her online course and live workshops. Her Art is her Legacy.
