This level is perfect for you, if you have completed the Beginner I: ‘Absolute’ Beginner course, or been playing for a while on your own, and can strum a simple tune fluidly with basic chords (C, F, G7, Am, E7, haven’t done Bb well yet). You can move from one chord to another with ease, and play a melody reading simple tablature (the easy number system to read a melody line). This B2 or ‘Tweener’ Beginner, as it’s between Absolute beginner and Advanced beginner, is designed to be taken after Absolute Beginner for the first time, or if you have been playing tunes and strumming along at home, but would like to review reading single note melody instrumental playing and consolidate your Ukulele foundation. This level is designed to be taken to deepen muscle memory, ability to play and integrate, before moving onto Beginner III: Advanced Beginner.

You will learn: to play more chords associated with the C Major Scale,(and perhaps G or F), simple picking patterns, and variety of strum feels, and review single note instrumental melody playing. How to build a major scale, fret board recognition, simple chord progressions, simple chord melody, 2 or 3 part ensemble playing, and a variety of tunes from a repertoire of Jazz, Blues, Country, Classical, Folk & contemporary tunes. There is something for everyone!

This course consolidates the basics of Ukulele playing, and enhances fluidity of playing. And is designed to facilitate ease of transition into Beginner III: the Advanced Beginner level, from absolute beginner, where students continue to play, learn, and consolidate techniques. Each term has new songs and emphasis on the Ukulele specials board! The honeymoon of Ukulele playing!

At Ruby’s Ukes our mission is to open the amazing world of music to everyone and you will find a welcoming, inclusive, inter-generational, very encouraging learning environment.

All you need for a fun time playing the Ukulele!
