Dialectical Stress Reduction – A mindful journey!

This is a 10-week mindfulness-based program for stress reduction called Dialectical Stress Reduction (DSR). It invites individuals with a broad range of health conditions to learn the core skills of mindfulness meditation. Participants in this group will develop ways in which to manage the current impact of stress on their day-to-day lives and to enhance their well-being over their lifespan.

This program has been modeled after the original mindfulness-based stress reduction course (MBSR) developed by Dr. Kabat-Zinn and colleagues. By adding a dialectical approach, we can manage emotional/physical pain and stress through acknowledging and developing an understanding and acceptance of our opposing feelings or beliefs residing in our minds at any given time.

Classes are held in the Danforth/Chester area on Tuesdays from 6:30-9:00pm.

Program start: Tuesday, June 6, 2017.

Program end: Tuesday, August 8, 2017
