Event description
10th Annual National Forum on Canada-China Economic Policy

About this Event

Due to events surrounding COVID-19, this event has been RESCHEDULED for Friday, September 18, 2020.

The China Institute of the University of Alberta will host its 10th annual “National Forum on Canada-China Investment and Trade” on September 18, 2020. The theme this year is “50 Years of Evolving Economic Relations”. This one-day event will bring together officials with responsibility for diplomatic and trade policies, industry leaders, and leading experts on trade and investment issues.

With evolving diplomatic issues in recent months, Canada-China relations have entered into uncharted waters of growing tension and complexity. While the two countries continue to maintain extensive and wide-ranging business and people-to-people ties, many in Canada have begun to wonder if political uncertainties will cool trade and investment and what can be done to mitigate the difficulties posed for business. The Forum this year aims to shed light on both the current challenges as well as the future course of Canada-China economic relations.
