Event Information
About this Event
Bridges for Women Society welcomes you to our 11th Annual International Women’s Day Celebration, taking place on March 8th, 2021 online from 11am-12:15pm. Join us for an inspiring gathering with keynote speakers, a silent auction, and solidarity for women’s empowerment. Registration is by donation. Our locally-sourced Tea-and-Treats gift bag is now sold out.
Our keynote speakers will be sharing their insights about women's empowerment, social responsibility, and their work as leaders through the COVID-19 pandemic.
Speakers include:
- Dr. Danièle Behn-Smith, Deputy Provincial Health Officer, Indigenous Health
- Kathryn Calder, City of Victoria Artist-in-Residence
We are thrilled to welcome back Robin Farrell from Ocean 98.5 as our fearless MC.
This online program is available by donation. Please, give generously. All proceeds from the event support women impacted by violence and trauma by sustaining the healing, education, and employment programs at Bridges for Women. These programs are essential in ending the cycle of violence, poverty and isolation for women in Victoria and across BC.
Thank you so much to our 2021 event sponsors: Ocean 98.5, BHM Family Law, and MNP.
Who We Are: Bridges is a gutsy, innovative community agency that inspires women affected by trauma, violence or abuse to reclaim their lives and build financial security through healing, education and employment programs. Our services are open to all women (transgender and cisgender), non-binary, and two-spirit people who identify as a part of the women’s community and who have been impacted by violence or trauma at any time in their lives. We are known as thought leaders on the impacts of abuse on employability, and we continue to develop innovative approaches to help community agencies, employers and government to better support the inspiring women we serve.
