<h3><strong>About this virtual workshop</strong></h3><p>We learn quickly that we cannot solve complex problems on our own and that collaboration is needed to create collective knowledge. Collaboration finds the larger body of knowledge needed for radical solutions. This webinar will explain the nature of networks and the techniques for collaboration. Open Networking is used to share knowledge, release the collective subconscious and to create new knowledge. There is a lower correlation between IQ and problem solving than between diversity and the ability to solve problems. Linus Pauling attributes his Nobel Prize to better collaboration and not better intellect. </p><h3><strong>About this workshop series</strong></h3><p>This webinar series will help you understand the primary competencies for Future of Jobs, how they link together, and how they ultimately enable the skill of Problem Solving for Innovation, which is the opening session. Each skill will be treated as a stand-alone session, which will also show its linkage to the other skills. &#x27;Leadership&#x27; will be addressed in the final session and will show how to manage the previous skills as an integrated package.</p><h3><strong>Biography</strong></h3><p><strong>Speaker:</strong> <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/peter-merrill-b321768/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"><strong>Peter Merrill</strong></a><strong> </strong>is a keynote speaker on innovation and has keynoted at events such as the World Conference on Quality. He is an engineer, artist, and writer, and leads innovation in the fields of graphic art and engineering. He is Head of Delegation for the Canadian Committee to ISO/TC279 on Innovation Management &amp; Chair of the ASQ Innovation Think Tank. Peter emphasizes the importance of developing an innovative culture, which leads to innovation of practices, business model, and products.</p><p><strong>Host:  </strong><a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/andrewlmaxwell/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"><strong>Dr. Andrew Maxwell </strong></a>is the Bergeron Chair in Technology Entrepreneurship at the Lassonde School of Engineering, York University (Toronto) &amp; Founder of Disruptive innovation Hub (DIH).  Andrew combines practical experience, (20 years in technology multinationals; co-founding four technology startups), economic development activities (founded the University of Toronto’s Exceler@tor incubator, helped seventy startups obtain seed funding) and academic excellence (teaching technology entrepreneurship at University of Waterloo, technology Commercialization at Rotman). He completed his Heizer Award Winning Ph.D. in Business Angel Decision Making at the University of Waterloo, and subsequently launched VentureStart an online course for technology entrepreneurs (funded by FedDev, and delivered by the Canadian Innovation Centre (Waterloo)). Maxwell’s work experience includes founding four technology companies and working in two technology multinationals.
