Join in the fun as one of our Educators leads you through an interactive activity. Each week will be different, it may be a creative activity, a science experiment, a sensory experience or a cooking challenge! We will let you know what materials you will need to have on hand to participate. Recommended ages: 2.5 years and up
Materials needed for each week:
Aug 5th – Making Scented Kool Aid Rainbow Bubbles
Materials:
-Dish soap
-Water
-Kool-aid packets (could be a variety of colors)
-Cups/bowls
-Spoons
-Straws, paper
-Paint brushes
Aug 12th – Stories and a Snack!
-We will be reading some stories like "Pete the Cat and the Perfect Pizza Party" and "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" and then cooking some of the treats in the stories!
-English Muffin Pizzas and Fruit Kabobs
-Ingredients for the English Muffin Pizzas: English muffin, pizza sauce, toppings such as shredded cheese, pepperoni, veggies etc. A grown up to help us bake our pizzas!
-Ingredients for the fruit kabobs: Soft, easy to cut fruits such as strawberries, bananas, pears, peaches, etc. Cutting board, child safe cutting knife or plastic butter knife, wooden skewers (optional, you can make this a fruit salad as well!), and a grown up to help us learn how to do the washing and cutting of our own fruit!
Aug 19th - What can you make with marshmallows/gumdrops and spaghetti/toothpicks?
-A construction project that can be as simple as poking a bunch of toothpicks in marshmallow/gumdrops for young children and build some simple structures.
Materials:
-A bag/bowl of marshmallows/gumdrops
-A handful of spaghetti or toothpicks.
Aug 26th – Art with Recycled Materials Using recycling objects to create pictures, landscapes or any piece or art.
Materials:
-Cardboard boxes (cereal, crackers, pasta, etc), egg carton, buttons, straws, lids, plastic bottles, wrapping paper from food,
-Glue
-Paint
-Scissors
-Markers
