Description

A 3 hour entry-level workshop introducing participants to the principles and practice of processing 16mm black and white film by hand with Caffenol-C, a coffee-based film developer.

$40 + taxes | General Admission
$35 + taxes | Concession
$30 + taxes | Member Admission


Elements include:

  • Principles of chemical developing
  • Darkroom safety
  • Bucket processing
  • Tank processing


Caffenol is a developer consisting of coffee crystals, washing soda and sometimes vitamin C. It was introduced in 1995 by Dr. Scott Williams and his class at the Rochester Institute of Technology during experiments to find a household developer.

Film shot at the 16mm Basics: Introduction to the Arri SRii Camera workshop (Sunday 23 Apr) will be processed in this class. If interested in both components (optional), please register for the Arri SRii class via the followng link:
