Description

The Friends of Film Society of Powell River produces the Powell River Film Festival, an annual event each February dedicated to showcasing the finest and most current releases from Powell River, Canada, and the World. Visit our website at www.prfilmfestival.ca.

All screenings at the Patricia Theatre, unless noted otherwise.

Early Bird Passes on sale now. As compensation for the high processing fee for passes, all those who purchase a pass online will receive a ticket at the Patricia Theatre that can be redeemed for one complimentary beverage at a Festival screening. Full Pass holders can choose a bar drink at either of the two evening receptions.

*A 2018 Powell River Friends of Film Society Membership ($2) is required to attend unrated films. (Membership is included with Festival Passes.) The membership only costs $2 and it is good for the duration of the Festival. These are available online, or at Coles, The Peak or the Patricia Theatre. This fee helps us cover the costs associated with bringing these high calibre films to our members, and allows us to show unrated films. As an added membership perk this year, you will receive a FREE small popcorn through December 31, 2018, for any film screened at the Patricia Theatre.

FAQs

What can I bring into the event?

Anything purchased at Concession at Patricia Theatre can be taken in to enjoy during a film. Bottled water, only, permitted at Max Cameron Theatre.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Email kim@prfilmfestival.ca or phone 604-483-8382.

What's the refund policy?

No refunds, but please reach out if there are extenuating circumstances.

Do I need to purchase a Powell River Friends of Film Society membership to attend screenings?

Memberships ($2) are required to see unrated films (noted with asterisk* above.) Memberships are included in the cost of Festival and Matinée Passes.

What is the age requirement for a senior's pass/ticket?

61 and older qualify for senior's rate.

What time should I be at the Theatre for a screening?

Patrons are asked to be in their seats at least 15 minutes before the start of the screening as seats are not guaranteed after that time.

Why do online pass purchases include a complimentary beverage?

As we have shifted to an online ticketing system this year, we acknowledge that the ticketing fees are a little higher on passes than they are on individual tickets. The high cost of processing fees for passes is dictated by Eventbrite and beyond our control. This is our way of showing appreciation for your understanding.
