Event description

Description

A lavish 1867-themed dinner of historic dishes to celebrate Canada 150, the 150th anniversary of Canada's Confederation in 1867, with recipes historically sourced and prepared using fresh local ingredients by Chef Liz Mountain. The menu consists of:

  • Asparagus Salad
  • Duck Terrine with Blackcurrant Sauce
  • Baked Quail on Canadian Baked Beans (or Succotash)
  • "Indian" Pudding with Fresh Strawberries

Chef Liz Mountain has been cooking since childhood. As everything revolves around eating, Liz has enjoyed the science and history behind our daily bread. Her goal is to keep scratch-cooking a viable art, and she currently does so with adults and youth at The Local Community Food Centre and the Slow Food Youth Booth.

Please note that alcohol will not be served at this event.
