Membership:

The Friends of Film Society of Powell River is responsible for operating in compliance with the Motion Picture Act and Consumer Protection BC. Only registered, not-for-profit, film societies are allowed to screen films that have not been classified by Consumer Protection BC, and only members are permitted to be present at the place where a non-classified film is being exhibited.

THEREFORE: To attend a Powell River Film Festival screening (which may not have been classified by Consumer Protection BC), all attendees 18 and older must hold a valid 2019 Friends of Film Society of Powell River membership card.

The membership costs only $2 (included with Festival Pass purchase) and is valid until December 31, 2019. These are available online, or in-person at the Pop-up PRFF Kiosk in TC Mall (near Coles) from 12:00 - 4:00 on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and at the Patricia Theatre during the Festival. This fee also helps us cover the costs associated with bringing these high calibre films to our members. By joining the society, you are entitled to attend the next Annual General Meeting.

IMPORTANT: You must show your membership card at every screening. If you have forgotten your membership card, you may be asked to purchase another membership in order to be allowed into the theatre.

As a perk this year, you will receive five (5) FREE small popcorns through December 31, 2019; offer valid during any films screened at the Patricia Theatre when you present your 2019 membership card!

What time should I be at the Theatre for a screening?

Patrons are asked to be in their seats at least 15 minutes before the start of the screening as seats are not guaranteed after that time.

Why do online pass purchases include a complimentary beverage?

As we have shifted to an online ticketing system this year, we acknowledge that the ticketing fees are a little higher on passes than they are on individual tickets. The high cost of processing fees for passes is dictated by Eventbrite and beyond our control. This is our way of showing appreciation for your understanding.
