Featuring keynote speaker Brenda Herchmer, Principal Collaborator and Founder, Campus for Communities.
An author of three books, Brenda's primary work involves speaking, training, and consulting as it relates to community building and recreation. She has served as the Director of Alberta Recreation and Parks Association's ACE Communities initiative and taught Recreation at Niagara College where she also founded and managed the Niagara Centre for Community Leadership.
Brenda has been acknowledged as a YWCA Woman of Distinction in Training and Education and won the 2016 Brock University Faculty of Applied Sciences Distinguished Graduate Award.
This full day event is divided into morning and afternoon sessions.
The morning session will include discussions on Policy Change for Collective Impact, and Empowering Staff as Leaders - how to engage your staff to step up, become leaders and lead change in our communities. These discussions are directed at decision/policy makers and those that bring them to life in your organization. We will also take this opportunity to provide an overview of some of the outcomes of the Family Centred Service System for 2016.
Afternoon session, lead by our keynote speaker Brenda Herchmer, will focus on Relationship Building Using a Community Development Approach.
