The 5th International Aboriginal Tourism Conference (#2016IATC) will take place this December on the Traditional Territory and the 7 Districts of the Mi’kmaw people, also known as Mi’kmaki Territory. For three days we will be hosted on Membertou First Nation at the beautiful Membertou Trade & Convention Centre along with hundreds of delegates from First Nations, Inuit, and Metis communities, the Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal tourism industry, and support organizations from accross Canada and abroad.
2016 IATC will focus on lectures and presentations from keynote speakers in the global Aboriginal tourism industry, as well as workshops, development sessions, and networking. The conference will also host cultural sharing & celebration such as opening ceremonies, prayers, traditional meals and local Aboriginal cultural tours.
Aboriginal Tourism is a growing area of economic development and reclamation for Aboriginal business owners, communities and peoples. Through tourism, we tell the story of our communities and our history to visitors from around the world. Our communities are vibrant, young, urban and rural; modern and traditional.
