Join us at the 2017 Annual UBC Chan Gunn Lecture on Thursday, November 30th, 2017 from 5:00-7:30PM.

Special Keynote Speaker: Dr. Jay Shah

Title: GunnIMS - New Frontiers in Chronic Myofascial Pain and Central Sensitization: Integrating Advancements in the Pain Sciences with Evaluation and Treatment Strategies

Jay P. Shah, MD is a physiatrist and clinical investigator in Bethesda, Maryland USA. He and his co-investigators have utilized novel microanalytical and ultrasound imaging techniques that have uncovered the unique biochemical milieu and viscoelastic properties of myofascial trigger points and surrounding soft tissue. Jay is a well-known lecturer on mechanisms of chronic pain, myofascial pain, acupuncture techniques and other related topic and has given many invited lectures and hands-on courses nationally and internationally for physicians, physiotherapists, acupuncturists, dentists, and other professional groups. His presentations integrate the fascinating knowledge emerging from the basic and clinical pain sciences in order to improve evaluation and management approaches to chronic musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. He completed the UCLA Medical Acupuncture course and a Bravewell Fellowship at the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine.

This lecture is free to attend. Light refreshments served at 5:00PM and lecture starts at 5:30PM.
