Description

In light of recent world events, intolerance and hatred have increased in the public sphere. At this interesting and interactive session, we will hear from some of Toronto’s top experts on how to be an ally, and how to stand up to intolerance in all its forms.

Rania El Mugammar, anti-oppression & equity educator, will be the keynote speaker. Her work explores strategies and tactics for addressing discrimination in meaningful and impactful ways. She will be followed by a panel of dynamic speakers who address Islamophobia, anti-Black Racism and transphobia issues in their work.

Mixed Company Theatre will also be performing a Forum Theatre production (a UNESCO recognized educational tool for implementing social change), a live skit with actors depicting incidents of discrimination and techniques for intervention.

Seating is limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

For dietary restrictions, questions about accessibility or to request accommodations please contact Nazish Sardar at (416) 397-0929 or nazish.sardar@toronto.ca.
