Join the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation in Montréal, Quebec, on 15-17 November 2017 to explore trends that challenge our views on democracy, community, and security, and to meet innovative leaders who are shaping the future. Topics include:

- The reinvention of Montréal;
- Imagining the Indigenous future;
- The impact of big data and the new media landscape;
- The emergence of extremism: Extreme no longer?
- Youth and 21st century conflict.

Essential Ideas is the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation’s 14th annual forum around ideas and research on some of the most pressing issues of our time. Plenary sessions and small group discussions will maximize interactions and learning among informed citizens, decision makers, thinkers, and practitioners. The 2017 forum will feature thinkers supported by the Foundation and external experts.
