Event description

Description

Every year we bestow a prestigious award, named in honour of the foundress of the IBVM to individuals who best embody Mary Ward’s vision and assertion that “I hope in God it will be seen that women in time to come will do much”.

Join us for a wonderful event at the Order of Mary Ward Tribute Celebration on Sunday October 1st, 2017 at 11 am. Catch up with your classmates, teachers and the Loretto Sisters and enjoy the chapel as we honour this years’ recipients. The events starts with a mass, followed by the award ceremoney. Light refreshments will be served afterwards. Tickets are free; however, a donation at the door would be most appreciated.

Sabrina Fuoco (posthumous)

In Sabrina’s own words, from her blog: So, who exactly is cancer girl, you might wonder? Well, she’s just an ordinary person like you, the only difference is that she’s a five-time cancer survivor and now she’s faced with metastatic disease, so I guess that makes it 6 times that cancer has reared its nasty head. Yup, you read that correctly, six times! Cancer has been a part of my life since I was three years old. I’ve battled this grueling illness as a child, teenager and young adult. Naturally, I have so much to say on the subject, so I figured what better forum is there than this blog to share some of my stories, opinions, updates. research, and thoughts with all of you.

Sabrina passed away on January 10, 2017. As such, the Order of Mary Ward will be awarded posthumously and presented to her family. She is an alumnae of Loretto Abbey.

We look forward to seeing you at the event!
